Our Mission
Faced with South Africa’s escalating unemployment and poverty, the Siyabona Community Initiative, located in the rural farmlands of Richmond KwaZulu Natal, aims to empower disadvantaged communities by fostering economic upliftment, ensuring food security and providing a positive future for our youth.
At Siyabona, our mission is to empower communities by creating a self-sustaining ecosystem of opportunity and growth. Through initiatives focused on economic upliftment, education and training, community development, food security, job creation, and spiritual outreach, we equip individuals with the skills, resources, and confidence to become self-sufficient. By fostering entrepreneurship, supporting sustainable livelihoods, and creating employment opportunities, we aim to build stronger communities and create a lasting ripple effect of prosperity, dignity, and hope.

Our core mission at Siyabona is to cultivate a self-sustaining ecosystem of empowerment within our communities. We’re doing this through a series of carefully targeted initiatives that address the most pressing needs.
Our primary focus areas include Economic Upliftment, providing tangible ways for people to improve their financial standing, alongside dedicated efforts in Education and Training to equip individuals with valuable skills. We’re also deeply committed to holistic Community Development, ensuring that our projects benefit everyone. Essential to our work is achieving Food Security, making sure families have consistent access to nutritious food, and actively fostering Job Creation to stimulate local economies.
Furthermore, we believe in nurturing the person as a whole through Spiritual Outreach, and meaningful social connections created through our projects. In a world where many children grow up without the presence or guidance of a father, we believe that every child can find direction, identity and hope through a relationship with God. Our aim is to provide not only practical support and opportunities, but also encouragement and positive guidance that points young people towards a life of purpose, grounded by faith.
These focus areas guide our key aims: ultimately, we want to equip individuals with the necessary tools to become self-sufficient, giving them the agency to build their own futures.
This involves fostering robust skills development that leads directly to self-employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, empowering people to create their own livelihoods.
By achieving these aims, we are confident in our ability to generate sustainable income opportunities, leading to broader job creation within the community, creating a ripple effect of prosperity and stability.
Our Focus
Our Vision
Thriving community

Training center
empowering youth
Siyabona envisions a multi-faceted community hub that integrates various programs to ensure long-term education which will help bridge the gap from school to emoployment . Working together with Einsiedeln School, which shares borders with the Agri village, young children can learn vital practical skills in order to provide for themselves and future generations.
Crops, Livestock, and Indigenous Nursery
Sustainability is key
Working alongside members of the communities to create sustainable livelihoods through sustainable crop and livestock production, members are supported with the knowledge, skills and resources needed to grow food and raise healthy livestock.
Hand-in-hand with Thula iNyoni's Forest Restoration Initiative, we partner with local community members to establish an Indigenous Tree Nursery and grow seedlings to support the initiative while empowering economic development, creating jobs and conserving natural ecosystems.
With the support of donations, we aim to provide communities with the tools, training and resources they need to build greater food security, strengthen livelihoods and become active partners in restoring our natural environment.

Driving Economic Growth
Income generation
A local store to provide convenient access to goods in an isolated community which will also create an additional revenue stream. Through the facilitation of education & training providers, sustainable agricultural activities could be learned, improving food security for the community and promoting community development through job creation.
We believe that sustainable communities are built through opportunity. By supporting entrepreneurship and small business development, we aim to empower community members with the skills, mentorship and resources needed to start and grow their own micro-enterprises.
Whether it's creating handmade crafts, crochet items, bee-keeping, beadwork, sewing, artwork, home décor, baked goods, or other locally produced products, these small businesses provide families with an opportunity to become economically independent and generate a sustainable income while showcasing their creativity and talents.
Every small business started is another step towards a stronger, more self-sufficient community.
